Painting & Wrapping

Saturday 24th October is painting day for the set for ‘Twas The Night Before Christmas and we need as many hands available as possible.

Work starts at 10am at Ditchling Village Hall and as well as unrolling the backdrop and painting its base coat and then decoration we also need to create some piles of toys and presents for Santa’s workshop.

This means wrapping up cardboard boxes, large and small, and we need plenty of Xmas wrapping paper, as well as any bows, ribbons and other trimmings.

So as well as willing helpers we are also keen to have any surplus seasonal wrapping paper.
If you can’t attend but have materials to donate please get in touch.

If you can come then it will help if you bring your own scissors, sticky tape, tools and other appropriate equipment!

Why Not Get Involved?

You don’t have to be a budding Benedict Cumberbatch or Olivia Colman.to be part of the team putting on one of the Ditchling Players’ shows.

Many of these roles are more flexible in the time required, (acting rehearsals are usually two evenings a week).

As well as actors on stage every show also needs a few people literally Behind the Scenes, helping out as stage crew, or running sound or lighting, and in the weeks leading up to a production there are sets, costumes and props to find and prepare and publicity to distribute, both physical and online.

And providing the full experience for each audience also needs people for Front of House, checking tickets, or selling refreshments in the interval.

And if you are interested in treading the boards, we are always keen to see new or experienced actors at our auditions. Join our mailing list and follow our Facebook page to make sure you hear about these.

Whatever your skills and interests, we welcome new members willing to be active in supporting drama in Ditchling.
