Simon Brett, must have killed 100s of people… but fortunately he is a prolific author, with over 100 books to his name, with the majority of those being traditional British detective fiction including eccentric characters, humour and plot twists. (You may have heard his Charles Paris stories dramatised on Radio 4)

As in his novels, Murder in Play provides us with a cast of likely suspects while also poking fun at them. In this case a provincial theatre company, with a tyrannical director, a set of actors with egos bigger than talent, and a long-suffering stage manager who are about to open the self-penned
‘Murder at Priorswell Manor’.
